Registration Policies & Procedures

Registration Information:

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT 2022 and 2023 - Freedom Hill Folk School is just getting off the ground and courses will be added rapidly as scheduling, resources and facilities allow.  Please be patient with us as we get our feet under us, do our best to respond to inquiries and fill up the course catalogue.

You can register online by purchasing an available course in the course catalog, or by e-mailing the school at info@freedomhillfolkschool.com to inquire about Veteran/First Responder scholarship slots or to seek other information.  Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Many courses fill quickly so early enrollment is recommended. To register online: find the course you’d like to register for on the "Course List” page and click the link that says “Add to shopping cart.”

All classes are offered by the Freedom Hill Folk School, a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation in Bellaire, MI. Our classes are intended for adult learners and children and young teens accompanied by an adult. Tuition is our primary means of support, along with memberships and donations.

Register as early as possible, as courses fill quickly and be sure to watch our social media posts for last-minute opportunities or sudden cancellations. If you find a course you want to take and it is close to the start date, e-mail us at info@freedomhillfolkschool.com as there are sometimes last minute changes that may have left a spot open just for you! Your space in a class is reserved upon registration and payment. Confirmation will be sent out via email. A photo and liability release form will be issued and a signature required at the first class. 

Course Location:

All classes will be offered at the Freedom Hill Folk School, 717 E Cayuga St, Bellaire, MI, unless otherwise noted.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

If FHFS must cancel a course, students will receive a full refund of any payments made for that course. Students who cancel their enrollment more than 30 days prior to the first day of the course will receive a refund of fees paid less a cancellation fee to cover our administrative costs:
  • $40 cancellation fee for a full-day or multiple- day class
  • $25 cancellation fee for a 1/2 day class
  • $10 cancellation fee for children’s classes
In recognition of the time and energy instructors invest in preparing for their classes, students who cancel their enrollment 30 days or less prior to the first day of the course are not eligible for a refund. Exceptions to the refund policy will be rare and considered only under unusually mitigating circumstances. Tuition & Material Fees:

Tuition and material fees are payable to Freedom Hill Folk School at the time of registration.
